Privacy Policy
Wordtake collects the information needed to provide accounts, process uploaded media, create transcripts and exports, manage purchases, secure the service, and troubleshoot failures.
Information we collect
This can include your account email, authentication details supplied by your sign-in provider, files you upload, transcripts and edits you save, generated exports, and basic technical records used to operate and secure the service. Payments are processed by Polar; Wordtake receives transaction status and product details rather than your full card number.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate your account, process media, create and store transcripts, generate exports, manage credits and purchases, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal information or use uploaded content to advertise to you.
Media and retention
Original uploaded video and audio are removed within six hours after a transcript is successfully saved. Extracted working audio is removed when transcription is saved. Transcripts and export history remain in your account until deletion or account closure. Generated TXT, SRT, and VTT files expire after seven days.
Service providers and security
Wordtake uses Cloudflare for hosting, storage, security, and AI services; Google for optional sign-in; Polar for checkout; and configured transcription or language-processing providers when needed. We use essential storage, encrypted transport, short-lived signed links, access controls, and retention limits, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may use email sign-in instead of Google sign-in, revoke Wordtake access in your Google account, review and edit saved transcripts, and request deletion of account information. Some records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, financial reconciliation, or legal obligations.
